Dveri Pax Riesling Halbsüss

2024 Riesling semisweet

Sweet wine

Colour is pale gold. On the nose, it is youthful and opulent, saturated with fruit and floral notes such as peach, juicy pear, pineapple, melon, apricot, lemon, and orange blossom. It is then joined by a combination of spice aromas, notably cinnamon. Complex, fresh, vibrant, and inviting.

On the palate, it is medium-sweet, with higher acidity and a beautiful balance between the two. A wine that can address those who prefer dry wines as well. It is impressive, showing precision, purity, and definition – unmistakably Riesling, clearly originating from Jeruzalem. Arguably, the best sweet Rieslings by now coming from our house. Built for the long-term ageing! With a very long, fruit-driven finish.

Fruit salads, ice cream, apple pie. This kind of style is very often served with slightly piquant, spicy Asian dishes

  • Riesling: 100 %

The winter was mild, and all phenophases started very early. A heavy frost (April 22), rains after flowering and a hailstorm (July 13) decimated the harvest, which was about 30% smaller than on average. High August temperatures greatly accelerated the ripening. The harvest, the earliest in memory, began around August 20 and mostly ended around September 20. The crop is small, the quality is very high, acidity levels are moderate, and the wines show clear varietal characteristics despite the warm vintage.

In stainless steel tanks, matured on the fine lees.

  • Alcohol content: 9,50 % vol.
  • Acidity: 6,11 g/l
  • Residual sugar content: 32,8 g/l
  • Closure type: Stelvin Lux

In very good condition already (July 2025) but will be in great shape for another decade. Best from 2025-2040.
