White wine
It shows medium deep mango colour, with a lately quite popular slight cooper tinge. Bit restrained at first, but opens soon displaying fruity notes, especially fruits such as pears and apples. Juicy.
Very dry on the palate, with acidity levels on medium plus, which give win a nice verticality as well as freshness and vibrancy. Fruit character opens even more on the palate displaying some extra notes such as butter and oriental spices. There is a pleasant texture and fine, longer aftertaste.
A classic Sivi Pinot from Styria with Pinot Grigio freshness and Pinot Gris fruitiness.
Salads, pasta, risotto, slightly spiced dishes including many Asian.
2023 winter was mild, with almost no snow. Spring was cold and wet. Flowering started rather late on the 10st of June in warm, nice weather. Summer was rainy with several storms. On the 4th of August catastrophic floods hit central part of the country. Maintaining the grape health was extremely challenging. Warm summer after the 10th of August allowed for a more relaxed continuation. Harvest started on the 10th of September and finished on the first week of October. We obtained extremely drinkable wines with a slightly lower alcohol level, aromatic and with a well-expressed varietal character. We can talk about a very good, typical vintage for Štajerska Slovenija.
In stainless steel tanks, matured on the fine lees.
At its peak but can be kept for another three to four years. Drink from 2024-2028
