Dveri Pax Chardonnay V

2019 Chardonnay “V”

White wine

Produced only in exceptional years. After 2008, 2011, 2015 and 2017 this is the fifth Chardonnay “V” we have produced.

The colour is deep golden. Intense on the nose. First, we notice maturing notes of fine oak, vanilla, caramel, butter, roasted hazelnuts, and ripe peaches. Varied, well knit. Very dry, with good acidity levels, which are lifting the wine. Quite rich for moderate alcohol levels. There is a pleasant oily texture and quite a complex, intense, tasty character on the palate. “V” used to be much bigger wine in the past. It became much more tamed, less alcoholic today, but still offering plenty of taste and complexity. An excellent, “full blooded” Chardonnay suitable to fit the most eminent occasions. Not easy to grasp in one go. Salty, very long!

Grilled seafood, fish, mussels, white meat and main dishes with fine sauces.

  • Chardonnay: 100 %

Cold April and May broadcasted a rather late harvest, but a very hot June almost completely compensated the delay, though not completely. July and August were warm but not hot and nice weather in September enabled grapes to be picked well into October. 2019 brought very good yields and quality is very dependent of the skills of the winemakers. At Dveri-Pax we are very happy with the results. We produced classic wines with profound varietal aromatic profiles and moderate, even low alcohol levels typical for the region.
